Optical coherence tomography angiography (OCTA) is a non-invasive way for your physician to visualize the vascular structures of your retina. With OCTA, high definition images of the blood vessels can be obtained in seconds and analyzed immediately thereafter. Images can be obtained as often as needed to track disease progression and treatment response. Unlike traditional fluorescein angiography (FA), which requires an injection of dye into a vein in the arm, no dye injection is needed for OCTA. Your physician can determine which diagnostic test will be the most appropriate and useful in assessing your retinal condition.
